Melted Crayon Art Inspired!

Hey guys!

I 'melted crayon art' thing has really taken of over the last few months and it looks super fun, out of fear of covering the house in wax I won't attempt it, but I really love the effect, there's no better way to be inspired by the trend than to paint my nails.

Colours used:

Base: Essie "Neo Whimsical"

Red: Sinful colours "Cross my Heart"
Orange: Topshop "Carnival"
Yellow: Barry M "Yellow"
Green: Essie "Mojito Madness"
Blue: Topshop "Awol"
Indigo: NYC "Wild with Passion"
Violet: Champneys "Plum"

Glitter coat: Models Own "Hayleys Comet"

I really love how these turned out, I did mess them up at first on a few of the nails, but I found a technique that made the drips look more... drippy. I realised doing this that I really don't have many purple toned colours so these ones had to do, I really love the effect though and I got quite a few compliments at work.

Once I got into the flow after a few nails they really didn't take very long at all, apart from the rainbow on my thumb, that took me a while! I think these are super fun and a different way of pulling of brights for the summer. I know I've done quite a few 'drip' nails in the past but these are just so much better, don't you think?!

I added a bit of a glitter coat to the rainbow but I regretted it once I had finished the nails but hey, you live and you learn.

I am loving brights at the minute, maybe it was because we had a good few days of sun this week, until today, it's raining like crazy. Classic Northern England.

I'm sure you can expect many more crazy bright nails from me in the next few months!

Minecraft inspired nails!

Hey guys!

So I have formed an obsession with the game Minecraft because of Youtube and my brother, and so I decided to paint creepers and dirt blocks on my nails. I'm normal I swear. Anyway, if you haven't played Minecraft before I think you should go check it out, it's really fun, although I spend half of my time playing screaming at the computer as zombies and spiders run after me. I'm so rubbish at the game it's ridiculous. I die constantly.

I stuck with acrylic paints to do the square blocks, they seem a little easier to use and don't ruin brushes as much as nail varnish. The blocks aren't perfect, I didn't use tape or anything, I just freehanded it, making grids in my mind. I actually love the little creeper face, I'm super proud of it. They don't look evil but those little buggers just love to sneak up behind you and blow everything up.

I didn't do the dirt blocks in squares, I thought it would just look strange and blurred, not like dirt blocks at all, I really like how it turned out though, it made it more simple to do to, which was a bonus.

For my thumb nail I chose to do the TNT block, I was going to do Steve, the little default Minecraft guy, but after around an hour of drawing little squares I opted for an easier design. Yay laziness.  For all it was the most simple design concept it probably turned out worse than the others though.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the nails, although I didn't even attempt doing the right hand so I didn't keep most of the design. I kept the little creeper guy and painted the rest of the nails green, so they still looked pretty awesome.

It's another flowery kind of day.

Hey guys!

So apparently my obsession with floral nails hasn't stopped yet, I'm very much in a spring/ summer mood after we've had some gorgeous weather. Had a picnic in the park, been on adventures and walked for hours in the sun just for the hell of it.

I have fallen in love with the nude and green colours in this design, Models own 'Utopia' and Essie 'Mojito Madness', they're both just really, really, pretty shades for spring. I seen a design like this when browsing Google for inspiration, I just adapted it to make it more simple, to suit my tastes.

I really loved these nails when I done them, they styed on for almost a week before I got bored of them, even if they did get a little smudged and messed up after a few days. I usually go for really bright colours but this was lighter and a little more subtle .

I added Models own 'Indian ocean' to the centre of the flowers for a little glitter, I really love the new Artistix range from Models own and I'll probably buy more! Apparently 100 nail varnishes is enough for me!

How are you enjoying the British Spring Weather?
